Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful, special and wonderful women and men sometimes, who bear the extraordinary gift of being a mother!
Please take some time to enjoy your day and your children.
For the Spirit:
“The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.”
Rajneesh
For the Body:
Swine flu is being talked about everywhere I go and people seem really concerned - which is what the authorities want you to be. Please take a moment and use common sense. There is always a need to be cautious about viruses and getting sick all through the year and this is not a pandemic or even an epidemic, there have been no deaths in Australia or the US, and if you think a flu shot will protect you, think again. As this strain of flu is new, the current vaccine will not protect you against it. I have included a insightful and objective article which is sure to be very enlightening and reassuring – please pass on to your friends and relatives who are interested.
Critical Alert: The Swine Flu Pandemic – Fact or Fiction?
Another big item this month is vaccination. Channel 7 has been running a story on their Sunday night program documenting vaccines and their validity. Last Sunday night Mike Munroe led a discussion group to get both sides of the story, in my opinion letting both sides of the argument have equal say is always a good way to have a discussion, if he had done this Australia might have had a more objective view of the choices available. I believe it is a person’s right to educate themselves and make a choice for their body and their child’s.
There also seems to be an increase of whooping cough around and there are many opinions of what to do and what not to do, mothers who have vaccinated their children are confused as their children are suffering form the illness. Please do some further reading on the subject and empower yourself!

For the Mind-Body Connection:
As female human beings in the Western World, many of us live in a culture lacking traditions, archetypes, myths, rituals and role models that embrace our feminine bodies, minds and spirits. Reclaiming ancient feminine wisdom provides a way for women to learn about female power and intuition, self worth and self-care. In her book Moon Rites, Michelle Royce shows us how to reclaim, embrace and nurture the feminine. A must have for all women to discover that life experiences can be seen as more than just biological - they can also be a key to unlocking personal power and inner guidance. On special this month for only $15.00
For the Soul:
This was sent to me by a friend and I loved it so much I had to share it with you!
A 1st Grade school teacher had twenty-six students in her class. She presented each child in her classroom the 1st half of a well-known proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb. It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders. Their insight may surprise you. While reading, keep in mind that these are first-graders, 6-year-olds, because the last one is a classic!
